#Crash bandicoot 2 speedrun full
Focusing on not dying is often better than going at full speed. The time crates will freeze the clock for a few seconds. To beat the required times you must finish the mission as quickly as possible, which means you can’t die and must get time crates along the way. Luckily, you only need all gold relics and not the platinum ones. There are 3 possible ratings depending on how fast you are: sapphire (slow), gold (good), platinum (best). This is going to be the most challenging part of the game! To earn Relics you must finish the time trials (speedruns) in record time.
#Crash bandicoot 2 speedrun upgrade
Without this upgrade it’s impossible to beat some of the target times. You should wait with this until after the story! The reason being that the final boss drops speed shoes which make you run a whole lot faster. If it has only one gem then it’s just from breaking every box.įor the specific locations and requirements please refer to the Crash Bandicoot 2 Gem Locations Guide Step 2: Speedruns (Gold Relics) If a mission has two clear one it means one is from a death path or gem path, the other from breaking all boxes. In the Warp Rooms you can see how many gems there are per mission. Of course, you can replay levels at any time and come back later to mop up the Gems. A few of them are also from Colored Gem Routes. During Death Paths you’ll run into Clear Gems.

They can only be activated if you haven’t lost a life during the level! Get to this sign without dying and step on it. During levels you will see platforms with a skull & bones symbol. One Clear Gem per level is always obtained from destroying all of the boxes! A key difference from the first game is that normal Clear Gems can also be found from so called “Death Paths”. Jump on the nitro boxes and they will warp you to a secret route. Purple: Bee-having (Warp Room 4) – About halfway through the level you see some nitro boxes stacked together that look like stairs.Yellow: Plant Food (Warp Room 3) – speedrun the level before time runs out – the timer starts after the second checkpoint. This leads to a secret route with the Green Gem at the end of it. There’s a fake wall at the end of the room that you can walk through. Take the right path into the room with lots of Nitro Boxes. Green: The Eel Deal (Warp Room 2) – About 40 seconds into the level the path splits up.It has to be through the portal in the basement, which only unlocks after you did the “Jumping the Jetboard” trophy. Please note: starting “Snow Go” from Warp Room 1 does not work. From here go through the portal to level “Snow Go” which contains the red gem. When you do it teleports you to the warp room in the basement. Red: Snow Go (Warp Room 1) – first you must find the secret exit in level “Air Crash” (see trophy “Jumping the Jetboard”).
